What happens at a workshop

Every workshop runs along a similar format.

  • Welcome

  • Health & Safety

  • Drinks (tea and coffee provided but please feel free to bring a bottle of wine or other drinks you wish to consume).

  • Introduction to theme and materials being used. This is not a taught lesson so please don’t expect lots of technical jargon and artistic techniques. It is an opportunity for you to have time for you to explore your creativity. (Loads of inspiration and guidance is provided though!!)

  • Get stuck in, get messy, have fun!

  • Each workshop lasts about 2.5 hours but I can be flexible up to 3 hours if you are mid masterpiece!

  • All materials including paper, canvases, tote bags (where appropriate), paint, inks, pens etc are included.

  • I will provide you with an apron to wear at the workshop. Please don’t wear your best clothes!

  • I will tidy up the studio at the end of the workshop so you are free to head home with your creations (obviously any offers of help are appreciated).

  • Please note that in some cases your art work may not be dry enough to safely transport home. If you wish I can keep them on the drying racks for you to collect at a later date. I may be able to deliver or post items if you cannot collect them. Please speak to me directly when booking or at the workshop itself to arrange.

  • Workshop attendees must be over 18 years old.

About the studio

  • The studio is based at my home in a separate building to our main house. There is one step into the studio. If you may need assistance please let me know when booking.

  • I am based in Twyford, about a 15 minute walk from Twyford railway station which is serviced by the Elizabeth line.

  • We do have a small amount of parking outside our house or on the surrounding road, however, I would encourage you to walk if you can or consider lift shares if you are coming with a group. If you hold a blue badge please let me know when booking so we can arrange you a parking space on our driveway.

  • I do have a toilet for customer use however please note this is down a set of stairs. A more accessible toilet can be provided if you let me know in advance.

“A fabulous workshop! Sarah created a relaxing and supportive atmosphere, where your creativity was encouraged. I’ve signed up for another one.”
